Petrobras will reduce the price of diesel for distributors starting this Saturday (29), from R$ 3.84 to R$ 3.46 per liter, a reduction of R$ 0.38 per liter. The final values at the pumps vary from one gas station to another, according to the state-owned company.

The company states that the main objectives of the reduction are “the maintenance of the company’s price competitiveness in relation to its customers’ main supply alternatives and the necessary market share for the optimization of refining assets”.

Considering the mandatory blend of 88% diesel A and 12% biodiesel for the composition of diesel sold at service stations, Petrobras’ share in the consumer price will be, on average, R$ 3.05 for each liter sold at the pump.

“Aware of the importance of its products to Brazilian society, the company emphasizes that when setting its prices, it seeks to avoid passing on the volatility of the international market and the exchange rate, while preserving a healthy competitive environment under the terms of current legislation. ”, completed Petrobras in a note (see in full).
