Petrobras reduces diesel prices for distributors from Wednesday (27)

Petrobras announced this Tuesday morning (26) that it will reduce the price of a liter of diesel A for distributors from Wednesday (27), with the expectation that the final value of the pumps will be R$ 0.26 lower than what is currently charged. According to the company, the reduction to distributors will be R$0.30 per liter on average.
“The adjustment is the result of an analysis of the fundamentals of the external and internal markets in light of Petrobras’ commercial strategy, implemented in May 2023 to replace the previous pricing policy, and which began to incorporate parameters that reflect the best refining and logistics conditions in Petrobras. Petrobras in its pricing”, said Petrobras in a note (see in full).
According to the company, the accumulated reduction for distributors in the year already reaches R$ 1.01 per book, equivalent to 22.5%.
The total pass-through to consumers, however, varies according to where the fuel is sold and “is also affected by other factors such as taxes, biofuel mix and distribution and resale profit margins”.
With the reduction announced this Tuesday (26), says Petrobras, the average price of A S10 diesel at the pumps should be between R$ 4.63 and R$ 8.26 per liter, depending on the place of sale, considering that the Survey of Fuel Prices by the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) for the week of December 17th to 23rd indicated an average value of R$5.98 per liter, varying between R$4.89 and R$ 8.52 per liter.
On the other hand, the prices for gasoline and cooking gas remain unchanged.
