The price of a liter of diesel sold by Petrobras to fuel distributors will be reduced by R$0.30 from this Wednesday (27). The announcement was made this Tuesday (26) by the state-owned company, which will now charge R$3.48 per liter. Gasoline and cooking gas prices will be maintained.

“The adjustment is the result of an analysis of the fundamentals of the external and internal markets in light of Petrobras’ commercial strategy, implemented in May 2023 to replace the previous pricing policy, and which began to incorporate parameters that reflect the best refining and logistics conditions in Petrobras. Petrobras in its pricing”, explained the company through a press release.

During the year, the reduction in the selling price of Petrobras’ diesel A to distributors is R$ 1.01 per liter, equivalent to 22.5%.

Petrobras reported that, considering the mandatory mixture of 88% diesel A and 12% biodiesel for the composition of diesel sold at service stations, its share of the price to the final consumer will be reduced by R$0.26 per liter.

For each liter paid at the pump, R$ 3.06 are the price of Petrobras, which calculates that the average value of A S10 diesel at the pumps could reflect between R$ 4.63 and R$ 8.26 per liter, depending on the place of sale, considering data from the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP).

The amount that the consumer pays at resale stations is also affected by other factors such as taxes, biofuel mix and profit margins of the distribution and the station itself.
