Former Economy Minister Paulo Guedes, who was part of the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), became a partner of financial influencer Thiago Nigro, known as Primo Rico.
The two jointly launched a digital MBA. The course is in Macroeconomics and Portfolio Management. According to the pair, the classes are aimed at “training professionals capable of interpreting economic scenarios and making the best investment decisions” and begin in September, with the first four classes free of charge.
The former minister no longer wants to know about politics. In conversations with former assistants and friends, Guedes has said that he has a “sense of accomplishment” in public life, according to UOL columnist Carla Araújo. Called “post Ipiranga” by Bolsonaro, the former minister was one of the main members of the Esplanada dos Ministérios in the former president’s management.
Since leaving Brasilia, shortly before the end of last year, Guedes has returned to live in his apartment in Leblon and tries to adopt a discreet routine. He chooses more reserved tables in the city’s traditional restaurants and often works from home.
Every morning he walks along the shore to Ipanema and usually interacts with workers and residents of the region. It’s not uncommon for ladies and gentlemen from Rio’s elite to ask for photos with the minister — but some beach hut workers also praise the minister.
