Manaus (AM) – In yet another agenda whose mission is to promote the application of the Information Technology Law for the execution of Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) projects, with extension to the states covered by the superintendence, Suframa visited on Thursday (24), the Paulo Feitoza Foundation – FPFtech.
The organization is considered one of the oldest institutions accredited by the Research and Development Activities Committee in the Amazon (Capda) and completes 25 years next October as a reference in the development of customized software and hardware projects in synergy with several business units.
After getting to know some potential projects, such as those aimed at energy monitoring, the system for separating boxes by weight and the cases developed in industry 4.0, superintendent Bosco Saraiva and Suframa’s technical team spoke with directors, teachers, students and technicians about the importance of bringing this knowledge, both to the interior of Amazonas and to the states of Acre, Rondônia, Roraima and Amapá.
“Our presence here represents a political and regional strengthening and, due to Paulo Feitoza’s production history, these projects can reach other states. We need to strengthen ourselves regionally, this will be very important for the Western Amazon in the coming years”,
stressed the superintendent.
In these almost 25 years of history, FPFtech has already invested more than BRL 1 billion in projects and has already received several awards (national and international) for this. With the mission of developing entrepreneurs and innovative businesses, the institution has 352 professionals, including PhDs and specialists, who work in industry 4.0, industrial automation, electronic systems, software, information security, entrepreneurship, new business development, education, technologies ” assistive devices” and biotechnology.
The result of so much investment made it possible to generate 2,300 direct jobs, with a considerable evolution in the use of local labor, compared to the beginning of activities in which most of the technical staff was formed mostly by people from other states, due to the shortage of skilled and qualified labor in the region.
“The foundation is important for the region. We have a very strong technician training school integrated with the local population. This is a side of the Manaus Free Trade Zone that is difficult to divulge, because when they look at us, they see industry, but we have a very strong side of technology and information arising from the industry”,
highlighted the director of the Business Area of the Paulo Feitoza Foundation, Armando Valle.
In addition to him, the Legal director, Rosanila Feitoza; the Director of Technology, Andréia Vieira; the Education manager, Professor Niomar Pimenta; and the members of the Executive Council of FPFtech, Paulo Fiúza and Antônio Pantoja.
Investments
Regarding investments in personnel, the institution has doctors, masters, specialists, graduates and only 22 employees with secondary education.
The excellence of the work is centered on training and professional qualification at a technical level, with integrated theoretical and practical classes; in the use of active methodologies and hybrid teaching models; and in the sense that students “learn to do by doing”.
Among the graduation courses, carried out in 18 months, are: Industrial Automation, Software Development, Management and Industry 4.0.
FPFtech has the support of several companies installed in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM) that believe in change through knowledge. Out of a total of 440 students, 30% of the professionals (residents in the periphery) are employed by companies, allowing for minimal dropout during the education and training process for these people.
