Partial CAS balance sheet in 2023 reveals a positive prognosis for investments in the PIM

CAS has already approved a total of 118 industrial, service and agricultural projects, which estimate investments of approximately R$ 2.5 billion

Manaus (AM) – In its first three meetings held so far in 2023 – two of which were attended by the Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin -, Suframa’s Board of Directors ( CAS) has already approved a total of 118 industrial, service and agricultural projects, which estimate investments of approximately BRL 2.5 billion, as well as the generation of 3,249 new jobs and additional revenue of BRL 15.95 billion in the Free Trade Zone Manaus (ZFM) over the next three years.

In this context, one can highlight, mainly, the approval of 42 industrial implementation projects, which genuinely represent the interest and commitment of new companies – of different sizes and profiles – to invest and settle in the Industrial Pole of Manaus ( PIM).

Another highlight of CAS activities this year was the pioneering approval of nine agricultural and agroindustrial projects aimed at the implementation of productive enterprises in the Suframa Agricultural District (DAS), which is set in a total area of ​​589,334 hectares located between the municipalities of Manaus (AM) and Rio Preto da Eva (AM).

According to the new deputy superintendent of Autarchy Projects, Leopoldo Montenegro, this unprecedented action is directly related to CAS Resolution No. 71/2019, which established new guidelines for granting lots in the DAS.

“The presentation of a technical-economic project was a prerequisite for the winners of the competition and, with that, we are beginning to see the progressive implementation of projects aimed at agriculture, livestock, forestry, mining, aquaculture, ecological tourism, institutional purposes, plant extractivism and agro-industrial activities, among others, which will undoubtedly be important to boost the capacity to generate employment and income in that area”,

highlighted the leader.

Team

Montenegro was the most recent deputy superintendent appointed by the current management, whose team is now complete. The other deputy superintendents are: Frederico Aguiar (Executive), Daniel Filho (Administration), Belarmino Lins (Operations) and Waldenir Vieira (Technological Development and Innovation). Three of the five superintendents are career civil servants at Suframa.
