Paraná bench discusses tax reform with governor Ratinho Junior

The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Junior (PSD), participated in the early afternoon of this Wednesday (5) in a meeting with the state’s bench in the Chamber. He said that the tax reform is good for the country, but expressed concern about the Federative Council, proposed in the text of the constitutional amendment.
The governor suggested that the text guarantee the participation of 2/3 of each Brazilian region, so that states such as Paraná and others do not lose out. He asked deputies from Paraná to be aware of this issue, and delegated veteran Luiz Carlos Haully (Podemos-PR) to accompany the negotiations with the proposal’s rapporteur, Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB).
Haully said that the reform is good, and will “unlock” the Brazilian economy, and that he will propose the creation of a permanent mixed commission in Congress to monitor and supervise the council. Several state benches are also gathered by the Chamber for guidelines.
Earlier, the President of the House, Arthur Lita (PP-AL), informed that he intends to put the matter up for discussion this Wednesday, and warned: “we are not going to turn the reform into a political battle”.
