The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), said this Tuesday (30) that the text of the new fiscal framework will go through the Economic Affairs Committee (CAE) of the House, before being voted by the plenary.

“The supplementary bill will be forwarded to the Economic Affairs Commission. The rapporteur will be Omar Aziz in the commission and later in the plenary,” said Pacheco.

Last week, the House approved the bill. If approved by the Senate, the new fiscal framework will replace the spending ceiling. The president of the Senate and party leaders should meet with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, next Thursday (1st) to discuss the issue.

Pacheco pointed out that he hopes to analyze the new fiscal rule by the end of June. “In the course of June, if it stays for the penultimate or last week of June, there is no loss. The important thing is that this semester, we can deliver a new fiscal regime for Brazil”, he said.
