Own energy generation park reaches 10% of the total – 07/03/2023 – Panel SA

The installed capacity in distributed generation in the country reached 22 GW in its various modalities (solar, wind, biomass, biogas, among others), which represents about 10% of the entire park in the country.
Data are from the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD) which projects 26 GW in capacity by the end of this year.
DG (Distributed Generation) is the modality in which the consumer produces the energy he consumes mainly through panels and solar panels.
Minas Gerais continues to lead the ranking of the largest producer of distributed generation energy, with 3 GW, followed by São Paulo.
This modality, however, generates criticism because, when they leave the electrical system, other consumers supplied by the distributors are forced to share the costs of maintaining the networks, which increases the bill at the end of the month.
Entities that represent consumers claim that the poorest are especially affected, since only those with high purchasing power can invest in installing panels in their homes.
