3M Institute opens enrollment for the selection process aimed at young people in Manaus

First job

To participate in the selection process, the student must be a resident of Manaus and a high school student

Manaus (AM) – The 3M Institute, the organization responsible for the social responsibility actions of 3M do Brasil, is accepting applications for the selection process of the 3M Formare Program in Manaus. This program aims to train young people for their first job, being developed by Fundação Iochpe in partnership with medium and large companies, including 3M, as an opportunity to enter the job market. There will be 20 vacancies, those interested must have been born between 8/1/2005 and 5/1/2006, reside in one of the cities of the 3M units where the program takes place, be finishing high school in 2023 or have finished it in 2022, in public education network. It is also necessary to be available during business hours during the following months and to belong to a family with a per capita income of up to one minimum wage. Child of an employee or service provider for the 3M company, or anyone who is already taking a professional course will not be able to participate. During the course period, approved young people will receive a monthly stipend of half the minimum wage, in addition to benefits such as food, transportation, life insurance, medical and dental care, uniforms and school supplies for use during classes. There will be 720 hours of course in total (including the practical part), daily classes lasting 8 hours, from October 2023 to May 2024. Monday to Friday, from 7am to 4pm, at the 3M unit in Manaus.

In all, in the 12 years since the program has been carried out, more than 670 young people have already benefited from the various 3M units in the country. In the last 3 years, around 60% of the students have been hired as young apprentices, temporary workers and third parties by the company.

About Formare

Formare is a Fundação Iochpe project that, developed through partnerships with large and medium-sized companies, offers professional education courses for young people from low-income families aged between 17 and 18 years. The courses offer the opportunity for initial training for the job market and last from 7 to 9 months. Classes are taught by the employees themselves at the company’s premises.
