The unprecedented show “Rocka & Madallena” collected more than 800 toys for the “Donate Toys and Win Sorrisos 2023” campaign

Manaus (AM) – The Amazonas Theater stage brought together classical music and contemporary rock, on Wednesday night (4). In a solidarity event, the Amazonian band Madallena joined the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra (OCA) for the unprecedented show, “Rocka & Madallena”, in support of the “Doe Brinquedos e Ganhe Sorrisos 2023” campaign, with two sessions sold out .

To collect toys for donation to social entities during Children’s Month, the initiative is promoted by the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy and the Social Promotion and Poverty Eradication Fund (FPS).

According to the executive secretary of Culture and Creative Economy, Candido Jeremias, the demand for the event was so great that it was necessary to open another session.

“We bring music and solidarity with a full capacity at Teatro Amazonas. The audience sold out the second session. It’s a very high expectation. A great spectacle was prepared”,

Cândido highlighted, emphasizing the social nature of the show and the public’s support.

On a visit to Manaus, Fernanda Machado, from Rio de Janeiro, took advantage of the opportunity. “This is my last day, I take the flight at dawn, and then I wanted to participate in this really cool action here at the Theater”, says Fernanda, who secured two tickets for the show and brought joy to many children in the state.

Classic and contemporary

In the show, the classic melody of the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra (OCA) became versatile once again. The group, which is one of the main artistic bodies in the state, stands out for its eclectic repertoires and has proven that the mix between rock and orchestra works very well.

According to Marcelo de Jesus, the orchestra’s chief conductor, the OCA has in its DNA not to be tied to one type of repertoire.

“We opted for diversity, and from that, we already talked to rock, with Rocka’s first edition; We’ve already talked about samba and, of course, we’re doing a super concert with Madallena, just with rock classics. Lots of good music”,

pointed out the maestro.

With the best of the musical genre from the 70s to the 90s, the debut of the band Madallena was a double dose, on the stage of the Teatro Amazonas and with the orchestra. For vocalist Fábio Aguiar, it was a pleasure to be part of the action, and without a doubt, it was more beautiful than any other performance Madalena has ever done.

“We are here to thank you for this wonderful invitation we received from the Department of Culture to be here at Teatro Amazonas, performing ‘Rocka e Madallena”’,

gratified Fábio.
