Nissan relaunches the Versa sedan for the second time this year – 06/22/2023 – Eduardo Sodré

Nissan is committed to making the Versa compact sedan gain market share in Brazil. The automaker promotes the second update of the car in 2023, four months after the last presentation.

The current generation was released in October 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. With no cars to deliver due to problems with logistics and parts supply, sales volume was low.

In February, the automaker decided to relaunch the car, which had received an update on the emissions system to adapt to the seventh phase of Proconve (Program for the Control of Air Pollution by Motor Vehicles).

The current change follows the global pattern, with a redesigned front end and the addition of equipment. The engine does not change: the 1.6 flex (113 hp) continues to be reconciled with the CVT automatic transmission, which simulates seven gears.

In addition to the visual change, the brand claims that the acoustic insulation has been reinforced. All versions feature six airbags, stability controls, power steering, air conditioning and electric controls for activating the locks and windows.

The multimedia center has a new eight-inch touchscreen. The instrument panel is also digital and configurable in the most equipped options.

The price starts at R$ 105,200 for the Sense option, which has 15-inch alloy wheels, cruise control (autopilot), frontal collision alert and ramp start assistant.

The Advance version costs R$ 114,300 and features wireless charging for cell phones and 16-inch wheels. The Versa Exclusive (R$ 126,600) has larger 17-inch wheels, LED headlights and air conditioning with automatic temperature regulation.

The Nissan model is offered for both sale and long-term lease, with plans that include insurance and documentation. Monthly plans cost around R$2,500.

Maurício Greco, Nissan do Brasil’s marketing director, says that sales volumes should grow due to greater regularity in the supply of components.

Because it was produced in Mexico, the Versa did not have access to discounts promoted by the government. Among the competitors marketed with a temporary discount are the Volkswagen Virtus (from R$ 110,900 with automatic transmission) and the Honda City sedan (R$ 114,000 in the EX version).
