Subscribers to Twitter Blue, a paid version of the social network, can publish videos of up to two hours since this Thursday (18), announced Elon Musk. Materials can be up to 8 gigabytes in size, and users must have a verified account.

The previous limit was 60 minutes. Payers are also entitled to publish videos in Full HD (1,080 pixels).

Twitter Blue arrived in Brazil in February and costs BRL 42 per month, when the subscription is made on a computer. This price rises to BRL 60 per month for cell phone purchases, due to the commission charged by the App Store and Google Play stores.

For the computer, in addition to the monthly plan, users can opt for the annual one, which comes with a 12% discount, for R$ 440.

The subscription service also gives the user access to features such as the blue verified account badge, halving timeline advertisements and early use of new features.

The implementation of Twitter Blue is one of the fiascoes of the social network under the command of Musk, who acquired control of the company in October for US$ 44 billion.

The billionaire was critical of the social network’s ad-based business model, which had struggled to record profits. Instead, it invested in the subscription model.

Under Musk, Twitter also launched a service to access exclusive content for accounts that opt for the model, on which the site charges commissions.

In March, Musk said he estimated Twitter was worth just $20 billion.

Contacted via email, Twitter’s press office responded to the report with an automatic message containing an emoji with feces. This response has been standard since March.

On the last day 11, the billionaire announced the hiring of a new chief executive for the social network. The next day, he announced that the chosen one had been former vice president of publicity for NBCUniversal Linda Yaccarino.

Musk said the professional will focus primarily on business operations. He will remain at the helm, but will focus on product design and new technologies.

Also via Twitter, Musk stated that he is looking forward to working with Linda and transforming the platform into X, the “app of everything”. The entrepreneur did not disclose more details of what this service intends to offer in the future.
