Manaus (AM) – The resilience and strength of northeastern migrants who found in music and artistic expressions a way to keep their identity alive. This is the core of the musical show “Exodus: The Northeastern Diaspora”. The show will be performed by the Akalanto Scenic Choir, conducted by maestro Gabriel Dantas, vocal preparation by Davi Lopes, in addition to direction and arrangements by Rubson Furtado. The presentation will take place on July 8, at 7 pm, at Teatro Gebes Medeiros, located at Av. Eduardo Ribeiro, Center.

“Exodus: The Northeastern Diaspora” is a true celebration of cultural union and the spirit of overcoming obstacles, making clear the positive impact that the northeastern diaspora had on the formation of the Amazonian identity. The director of the show, Rubson Furtado, says that Êxodo emerged as a tribute to his father (in memoriam) who was from the Northeast, based on reports and research in books such as “O Quinze”, by Rachel de Queiroz, and “Vidas Secas”. , by Graciliano Ramos.

“Exodus references biblical history. I imagined a parallel between the biblical story and the northeastern migration. I didn’t just stick to the story of sadness, but I want to address how this migration brought about a cultural revolution and that many of our traditions came along with these migrations”,
