Mundo Bita presents an event in Manaus with a song by Gilberto Gil

The world of Bita returns to the city of Manaus next Saturday (11), this time with a special carnival block for children. The show will take place in the Foyer of Teatro Manauara, starting at 4 pm, at Manauara Shopping.

The show’s production relies on a very special partner, Gilberto Gil, one of the most highly regarded Brazilian musicians in the country. The singer had his first release on Mundo Bita with the song “Palco”.

The artist was also named “Artist for Peace” by UNESCO and elected in 2021 to compose a place in the Brazilian Academy of Letters. In addition, the production of Mundo Bita, announced that the musician will participate in four more retellings in children’s animation.

To EM TEMPO, Chaps Melo, creator of Mundo Bita, told about how Gil’s partnership with animation came about, also explaining the intermediation of another internationally known musician, Caetano Veloso.

“In 2021, we found out that Caetano’s grandson was in love with Mundo Bita. So we made the invitation and, to our delight, he accepted. We released four clips in 2022, and the artist agreed to mediate our contact with Gil, who was on tour with his family in Europe, but sent word that he would like to do a project like his friend, with 4 of his works. I almost fell out of my chair with emotion, ”he reports.

Melo described the presence of Gilberto Gil in a Rádio Bita project as an old dream, presenting the singer as “a force of nature, a reference, art in its most sublime state”, in his view, Mundo Bita is an important universe and relevant information, education and culture.

“During the journey, we created a very consistent bond with the families and, each season, we captivated more and more children. We thought about how good it would be to use this strength to present great artists and their works to children. We started with one of the greatest musicians in the world, Milton Nascimento, who embraced and sponsored us. From then on, we saw Radio as another mission in our lives”, he says.

Future releases

Chaps says that, after “Palco”, other clips from the project will be released in May, August and November, and advanced some work on the next scripts.

“We are still working on the next script, but as Gilberto Gil from Mundo Bita lives and works at Planeta Música, making instruments to bring harmony and joy to the entire universe, the place will certainly be represented in other clips. We still can’t reveal what the songs will be, but I assure you that we had a huge job to choose just 4 from such a vast and brilliant repertoire ”, he declares.

Rádio Bita

The project “Rádio Bita”, is a project of reinterpretations of Brazilian songs, imagined by Chaps, with the participation of several artists, such as Milton Nascimento, Vanessa da Mata, Ivete Sangalo, Lulu Santos, Alceu Valença, among other great musical names .

In the episode with Bita, Lila, Dan and Tito, the four visit Planet Music, inhabited by the Plots. In this world, Gil manufactures instruments to bring more harmony and love to the universe.

Characters team up with the planet’s inhabitants to create stage magic, in a grand show that runs from soundcheck to curtains opening for the big show.

Return to Manaus
