More than 92 thousand families from Rio Grande do Sul are included in the Devolve ICMS program

With the updates made to Auxílio Brasil (the successor federal program to Bolsa Família) in January, there were changes in the number of CPFs eligible for the Devolve ICMS program in Rio Grande do Sul. More than 92,000 beneficiaries are now entitled to the benefit and will be able to withdraw the Citizen Card as of February 23 in the State. With these beneficiaries, the program developed by the government of Rio Grande do Sul already has 617,000 subscribers. The new card will already be loaded with the January installment payment.

There was also the re-entry of more than 12,000 holders to Devolve ICMS from people who regained the right to receive the benefit. This group, however, will continue to use the old card.

The grant is granted to families enrolled in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) who receive the Auxílio Brasil (formerly Bolsa Família) or whose holder has a dependent enrolled in the high school of the state network. The Citizen Card works like a debit card, which can be used in supermarkets and bakeries.

Including the new Devolve ICMS beneficiaries, there are more than 217,000 people who have not yet withdrawn the Citizen Card at distribution points in the State. In Porto Alegre, the municipality with the largest number of beneficiaries, there are 31,000 cards awaiting redemption by cardholders. Deliveries continue to occur normally in all municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul. To withdraw the card, the user must present an official identification document with a photo and CPF number.

In Porto Alegre, cards are delivered by Banrisul at the FGTAS headquarters (Borges de Medeiros, 521). The service is from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 2 pm.

In Canoas, the second municipality with the most holders, deliveries take place at the Municipal Treasury Secretariat building (Getúlio Vargas, 5.001). The place is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 15:00. In other municipalities, deliveries take place at Banrisul branches.
