McDonald’s opens new store in the North Zone of Porto Alegre

The store, with two floors, drive-thru and delivery, is located on the corner of Sertório and Assis Brasil avenues, one of the busiest spots in the region, which was decisive for choosing the spot. Customers will be able to access from 10 am.

At the end of this Monday afternoon (30), workers were finishing the external part of the garden and parking areas and cleaning openings.

Another two units are on the way in the South Zone of the Capital, one of them on the corner of Avenida Aparício Borges and Rua Oscar Pereira, close to Bourbon Teresópolis, from the Zaffari group, as the column learned on the spot. The other will be in the future mall that is being built on Avenida Juca Batista, in the Serraria region.

The information about the opening of the store in Assis Brasil was passed on by PLDA, a company from Rio Grande do Sul that carries out the physical expansion of the network in the State. The investment was R$ 4 million in what should be the 28th branch in the Capital, following the MV.

“The new unit will bring the most modern for store operation, with a very strong focus on drive and delivery operations”, highlights João Lopes de Almeida, director of PLDA.

“In the last three months, we opened two stores, including the one in the vicinity of Shopping Iguatemi and this one in Assis Brasil. In the first half of 2023, the expectation is to open two more units”, anticipates the company’s partner, confirming that one of them , by Juca Batista, will be at the Guadix mall, where there will also be a supermarket by the Santa Catarina chain Bistek.

The store that is opening has self-service terminals, for orders without having to go through the counter, and self-checkout for payment. 22 direct jobs were created. Due to its location and service size, the new operation should be one of the largest in terms of sales per square meter in Rio Grande do Sul.

Capital has the store with one of the highest revenues in the south of the country, which is located on the corner of Avenida Ipiranga and Rua Silva Só. Another with one of the best performances is the Alvorada unit, opened in 2021 in the access to the future Open Mall Carnetti development, at Avenida Getúlio Vargas, 1957.

In 2022, three new operations in different regions were opened. Newcomers opened in the East Zone, on the corner of Avenidas Protásio Alves and Antônio de Carvalho, in January, and two in the North Zone, on the corner of Rua Dom Pedro II and Avenida Cristóvão Colombo, in March, and in front of Iguatemi, in July , Rua Antônio Carlos Berta.

In the State, there are almost 60 stores of the brand. The chain also closed a point, in Rio Grande, in the South Zone of Rio Grande do Sul, in August last year. It was the only one of the brand in the port city.
