Chief of Executive emphasized the inclusion of Manaus in the route of major national and international events

Manaus (AM) – The mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, highlighted the management’s investments in the city’s culture, transforming the tourist route of the Amazonian capital. The information was passed on during a press conference held at Casa de Praia Zezinho Corrêa, in the Ponta Negra tourist complex, regarding the celebrations of the Amazonian capital’s anniversary, this Tuesday (24).

During the press conference, the head of the municipal Executive stressed that Manaus has increasingly invested in local culture, and highlighted the inclusion of the Amazonian capital in the route of major national and international events.

“We are the city hall that has invested the most in history, in cultural events. We put Manaus on another level at the national and international level of major events. By the end of this year, we will be announcing the big attractions for the next #SouManaus, so it’s something fantastic and we have this opportunity to invest in culture, art, sport, because we are working to give the best to this city”,

said the mayor.

The mayor also highlighted that taking major events, such as the inauguration of the Amazonino Mendes municipal park, which will feature performances by local and national artists, to the North and East zones, is part of the commitment to expand the cultural and tourist axis in the city .

“Manaus turns 354 today and for the first time the city’s anniversary is celebrated between the East and North zones of the city, which represent something around 55% of the population of the city of Manaus, so we are talking about more than a million people who live in those two areas, and this means valuing these areas”,

added Almeida.

Valuation

One of the main attractions of the event celebrating the city’s anniversary, singer Tierry, was grateful for the opportunity to be part of the celebration.

“I am very happy to participate today in this super celebration of 354 years of Manaus. Here we can see a people who make a point of welcoming us, of wanting to participate in the artist’s life, so I can only be grateful for this opportunity”,

said the singer.

Another major attraction, regional singer Guto Lima, stated that the feeling is one of gratitude, and highlighted the importance of valuing local artists.

“I just have to thank our mayor. It is an honor to be participating in this event here in the city of Manaus. The mayor has given the opportunity not only to me, but to several local artists, so this is very important, because we have never been as valued as we are now, and that is gratifying”,

Lima said.
