The applications of the Market Livre sales platform and the Market Pago digital bank went offline between 8:40 am and 12:55 pm. The online service monitoring website Downdetector recorded 18,278 complaints in that period – of these, 40% were about problems with access.

Sought after, Market Livre, also owner of Market Pago, says, in a note, that it has already re-established payment, collection and value transfer services on its platforms. The company called the event a “quick outage” that would have affected “some users”.

“The company is sorry for what happened and reinforces its commitment to the quality of the experience it offers to all users”, concludes the statement.

The report successfully tried to register a new user at 1:30 pm in the Market Livre application. Until 2 pm, however, people still complained on social networks about the lack of access to their bank account at Market Pago, while others confirmed the resumption of the service.

Downdetector complaints peaked at 9:40 am, with 3,653 issues reported within 15 minutes. On the platform, 30% of people also said they had had setbacks with the site.

The failures also reverberated on Twitter and reached the subjects of the moment, with more than 8,000 publications. As the company operates mainly in Latin America, the publications are divided between Portuguese and Spanish.

In addition to making fun of the company’s situation, users went to the microblogging social network to confirm whether the digital bank application had stopped working.

In March 2022, Market Livre had reported that the data of around 300,000 of its users had been accessed, after detecting that part of its source code had been the target of unauthorized access.

The company said in a statement at the time that it found no evidence that its “infrastructure systems have been compromised or that user passwords, account balances, investments, financial or payment card information have been obtained”.
