Marisa Monte releases the album ‘Portasrares (ao vivo)’ on Thursday, November 23rd, with seven songs captured on the tour of the show ‘Portas’ Leo Aversa / Disclosure ♪ Marisa Monte returns to other people’s repertoire a month after releasing the single Sweet Vampire with re-recording of the song by Rita Lee (1947 – 2023) presented by the author in 1979. On Thursday, November 23rd, Marisa will release the album Portasrares (live) with seven songs captured throughout the show’s tour Doors (2022 / 2023). Five are from other people’s mines. These are songs absent from the official show script, but incorporated into the set list in certain cities, sometimes as tributes to composers born in those locations. Cassiano’s partnership (1943 – 2021) with Paulo Zdanowski (1954 – 2023), the soul ballad A lua e eu (1975), for example, was sung by Marisa in April 2022 during the show’s visit to Paraíba, home state of Cassian. Another song from the album Portasrares, Felicidade (1947) was sung by Marisa in September 2022 during the Portas show in Porto Alegre (RS), hometown of the song’s composer, Lupicínio Rodrigues (1914 – 1974). The life of the traveler (Luiz Gonzaga and Hervê Cordovil, 1953), Lamento sertanejo (Dominguinhos and Gilberto Gil, 1973) and O lionzinho (Caetano Veloso, 1977) – captured in Lisbon, in a duet between the artist and the Uruguayan singer Jorge Drexler – are other songs from the album Rare Doors. The repertoire includes two compositions written by Marisa herself in the repertoire, Seo Zé (Carlinhos Brown, Marisa Monte and Nando Reis, 1996) and Pernambucobucolismo (Marisa Monte and Rodrigo Campello, 2006).
