The vaccine is being offered in 13 reference units managed by Semsa, distributed in all areas of the capital’s urban area
Manaus (AM) – The City of Manaus informs that it is making available, starting this Monday (15), doses of Coronavac for users who are starting or continuing the primary vaccination schedule against Covid-19. The vaccine is being offered in 13 reference units managed by the Municipal Health Department (Semsa), distributed in all areas of the urban area of the capital.
The offer of the Coronavac vaccine meets Semsa Manaus’ strategy of immunization against Covid-19, making up for the lack of the adult Pfizer immunizer in the municipal health network and is being recommended for people over 12 years of age, as the first or second dose of the primary vaccination schedule.
Semsa’s Immunization Manager, Isabel Hernandes, explains that the interchangeability of vaccines is provided for in Technical Note nº 53/2003, from the Ministry of Health. “In the case of application as a second dose, it is necessary to observe the recommended interval period for the vaccine used in the first dose, be it Pfizer, Janssen, AstraZeneca or Coronavac itself”, he informs.
“Although it recommends the application of the same vaccine in the first and second doses of the basic schedule, the ministry allows the application of different vaccines, in cases of lack of the one used in the first application or specific contraindications”,
points out Isabel.
Reinforcement
In addition to the monovalent vaccines, used as 1st and 2nd doses for people aged 6 months and over, and as a booster dose for adolescents aged 12 to 17 who are not part of priority groups, Semsa continues to offer the bivalent vaccine, as the first dose. reinforcement for all people aged 18 and over and adolescents from groups most vulnerable to severe forms of Covid-19.
The bivalent vaccine is also available in municipal network units as a second booster dose for elderly people aged 60 and over and immunosuppressed people aged 12 and over.
To find out about the vaccine doses received and to be received, users can consult the Imuniza Manaus online platform (imuniza.manaus.am.gov.br), simply entering their CPF number.
