Manaus hosts the First Brazilian Meeting of Violinists

The event will bring together recitals, masterclasses, competitions and much more from January 16th

Manaus (AM) — The capital of Amazonas hosts the 1st Brazilian Meeting of Violinists from January 16th to 21st. A cultural initiative that aims to celebrate and promote the rich tradition of violin music in Brazil. The event will be a confluence of talent, learning and musical appreciation, providing a platform for violinists, pedagogues, music students and enthusiasts to come together and explore the fascinating world of the violin. The project consists of a series of free recitals and lectures, and among the paid activities will be masterclasses and registration for the competition for violin students. The activities, in addition to being partially held at the State University of Amazonas, will also be held at the emblematic Palaces of Justice and Palácio Rio Negro, both historic sites, which with their magnificent architecture, will provide the perfect setting for the celebration of music.

The event will feature the participation of renowned violinists from different regions of Brazil, masters and pedagogues who have dedicated their lives to teaching and musical performance.

Dates

Ebravi is divided into 2 moments:

1. January 16th-21st: Masterclasses, Lectures, Recitals and Category A and B Competition
2. January 24th-29th: Masterclasses, Lectures, Recitals and Category C Competition

MASTERCLASSES (Participants and Listeners)

Those who purchase tickets for the Masterclasses will have classes with guest teachers in the morning shift (participants play, and listeners just watch), and in the afternoon everyone will have collective classes and rehearsals.

January 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th (for those who come in the first moment)
January 24th,25th,26th,27th (for those who come on the 2nd)

And everyone participates by playing in the final performances, which take place:

• January 21st in the morning (for those who come in the first moment)
• January 28th in the morning (for those who come on the 2nd)

Ebravi violin competition

For native or naturalized Brazilian violinists only.

• Category A (age 3-7 years)
• Category B (age 7-14 years)
• Category C (age 15-21 years)

Awards:

For the first places in each category: A toast and a performance at Teatro Amazonas (with date to be defined), for the Revelation Award: an author’s violin.

• “Até o Tucupi de Violino” concert with the UEA Violin Orchestra and EBRAVI violinists, at Palácio Rio Negro, on the 21st, at 10:30 am
• Recital of Candidates for the EBRAVI Violin Competition Categories A and B – Final, at Palácio Rio Negro, on the 20th, at 6pm
• The pedagogical work of Otakar Sevcik, at ESAT-UEA, Mini auditorium on the second floor, on the 22nd, at 6pm
• Recital of Candidates for the EBRAVI Violin Competition Category C – Selective, at Palácio Rio Negro, on the 26th, at 6pm
• Recital of Candidates for the EBRAVI Violin Competition Categories C -Final, at the Palace of Justice, on the 27th, at 5:30 pm
