Manaus hosts the 3rd Book and Library Week with special programming

The program will mobilize libraries and community centers with the exchange of books and comics, exhibitions, workshops and other activities

Manaus (AM) – From Wednesday until next Sunday (25th to 29th), the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, promotes the 3rd Book and Library Week, with an extensive program in the main libraries in the state . Activities include book exchanges, lectures, creative workshops, thematic exhibitions and reading activities for all audiences.

In celebration of National Book Week, the event’s mission is to promote reading, encourage the construction of knowledge and highlight the fundamental role of libraries in the democratization of information and the promotion of artistic and cultural manifestations.

According to writer Marcio Souza, who is in charge of managing the state’s libraries, it is programming for all ages, which explores literary, artistic and cultural expression, promoting creativity and learning. “In Manaus, we will celebrate and promote books and reading in a city that has an ancient tradition of reading, so much so that we have a century-old library here”, he highlights.

“We are preparing the program to announce and we will certainly not only have the participation of young people and students, but also many adults who are readers. Anyone who reads has the ability to discuss the topics they want, has the ability to understand science and understand history”,

• 8am – Open Literary Soiree: “Sharing Words and Emotions”, with poetry recitation, presentation by the guitar class and chat with writer Júlio Hatchwell.

• 2pm – Chat with writer Leonor Paniago, about the children’s book “The pandemic and the vaccine that became confusion”

October 26th (Thursday)
