LGBTQIA+ entrepreneur sees funding difficulty – 01/23/2023 – Panel SA

This week Instituto Mais Diversidade and Itaú Viver Mais are publishing a survey on the barriers faced by LGBTQIA+ people in business. Only 6% of them earn more than R$ 60,000 a year and more than 50% point to a lack of investment or financing as the main obstacles to undertaking in Brazil.
More than 40% indicate the creation of a network of contacts among the great difficulties. This percentage rises among self-declared black and brown LGBTI+ people (59%) and indigenous people (48%).
The age group between 45 and 54 years old, which is more prone to entrepreneurship, represents 25% of consolidated business owners, according to the survey.
Still according to the survey, which heard about 630 people, almost 80% have a CNPJ and about 60% act as MEI (individual microentrepreneur).
