Manaus (AM) – Another edition of Mania de Ler – Thiago de Mello and Anibal Beça Flying Library will move the lira at the Teatro Amazonas, on Sunday (22), starting at 4 pm, at Largo de São Sebastião, in the center of Manaus.
The project has the participation of Amazonian writer Leila Plácido, author of “Apenas uma Canoa Nas Noites de Verão”. At the meeting, the writer will promote an afternoon of reading, explain about the process of creating the work, in addition to presenting the watercolors that illustrate the work.
Contemplated by the Amazonas Creative Award, in 2021, the work brings an Amazonian theme to the children’s universe.
“I was able to work on my first Amazonian fable, which is why the book is a double milestone for me, it was when I started to pay more attention to the details of our reality and also because I started illustrating”,
Leila said.
The author also points out that participating in Mania de Ler has a special meaning; and that incentives from the state make it possible to disseminate Amazonian culture.
“Mania de Ler is a project for which I am very fond, it is extremely necessary for our children and adolescents to have access to reading”, he says. “And not only that, but that they can talk to local authors so that they confirm that we can also make quality art”, highlights the writer.
Synopsis
Canoa is in a hurry to tell his stories to the water and forest animals that, every night, gather to listen to the story. In the fable, the reader is invited to embark on Canoa’s narrative, which tells his life from the time he was a small seed until the moment he started to navigate the Amazonian rivers.
