The free project reached public institutions between the 2nd and 6th of October, with the donation of a collection of books and storytelling

Manaus (AM) – Between the 2nd and 6th of October, the “É Hora de Leitura” Project delivered book collections to public schools in Manaus, with the aim of encouraging reading in basic education, mainly by national and regional authors.

The collection structures have 80 copies of children’s books, 10 of them in Braille, encouraging accessibility and inclusion. Storytelling was carried out interactively, with children choosing the stories they wanted to hear and helping to set up the scenarios and, in addition, the workshops had a Libras interpreter and monitor to assist participants who had a disability. In Manaus, the structure and storytelling reached 5,451 children.

According to data from the 5th edition of the “Portraits of reading in Brazil” survey, Brazilians read an average of 1.45 literature books in 2020. Encouraging reading from childhood is important for this scenario in Brazil to prosper.

Culture Incentive Law, the “É Hora de Leitura” project is produced by Clauvi, supported by Incentivar Produções and sponsored by Valgroup and carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Federal Government, Union and Reconstruction.
