IR: Bolsonaro omitted BRL 27 billion from balance sheet for refund – 06/05/2023 – Panel SA

Former President Jair Bolsonaro did not provision around BRL 27 billion for this year’s Individual Income Tax refunds.

This is what the report of accounts for the last year of the former president’s term by the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) points out.

The trial takes place this Wednesday (7) and Bolsonaro’s accounts must be approved with reservations, according to ministers.

In the document, obtained by the SA Panel, the auditors inform that they did not find the “recognition of the obligation”.

The values, although entered in last year’s balance sheet, would be used in the financial year after the accrual exercise, already in the Lula government 3.

The TCU said it had already sent a recommendation to the Federal Revenue to correct the problem.

The issue, however, is accounting, according to court technicians. Overall, they found three inconsistencies and one irregularity in the former president’s accounts. Nothing serious, say the auditors.
