Attendance with a neuropediatrician is essential for the monitoring of children.
Manaus (AM) – IPEMED Manaus, Afya’s postgraduate brand, the largest hub for education and digital medical solutions in the country, entered into a partnership with Instituto Amigo Anjo to offer free medical care to children supported by the institution.
This Saturday (12), starting at 8 am, at the headquarters of IPEMED Manaus, located at Avenida André Araújo, 2767, Aleixo, 12 children will receive Neuropediatrics care.
The director of IPEMED Manaus, Suelen Falcão, points out that the partnership arose from a demand from the institute, which serves children aged 03 to 17 with autism, down syndrome, microcephaly, among other special needs and who need regular medical follow-up.
Suelen Falcão explains that service to the community is carried out by physicians who attend postgraduate courses and by professors.
“This is an opportunity for students to have direct contact with real cases, in the specialties they are studying. In return, the population receives quality specialized medical care at no cost. In the case of Instituto Amigo Anjo, the main demand is in the specialty of Pediatric Neurology”,
affirm.
According to the director of Instituto Amigo Anjo, Fabiana Braga de Castro, assistance with a neuropediatrician is essential for monitoring children.
“We are very happy for the partnership with IPEMED. It is very difficult to get a consultation in this specialty in the SUS, because the demand is high. Even patients who are already followed up have to wait months for a return. The Institute maintains a partnership with some doctors for a discount on private consultations, but many families we receive cannot afford to pay. Therefore, the opportunity that IPEMED opened is extremely important”,
highlights.
Angel Friend Institute
Instituto Amigo Anjo is located at Rua Diva Leão, 536, nucleus 3 of the Cidade Nova neighborhood. At the site, 102 children with different needs receive care from speech therapists, physiotherapists and pedagogues. In addition, families receive legal guidance and social assistance. The Institute was founded by Fabiana Braga, mother of two autistic children.
“I experienced firsthand all the needs that families that have a child with some kind of special need go through. Therefore, I embraced the cause and fight daily for these people. The project started small and gradually grew. We won land from the archdiocese, where the headquarters were built, with the support of parents who buy raffle tickets and participate in the bazaar we promote”,
