Investment firm announces Paulo Guedes as partner – 07/24/2023 – Market

The investment company Legend Capital announced this Monday (24) the arrival of former minister Paulo Guedes as a new partner and chairman of the board of directors.

Legend Capital has approximately R$ 11 billion invested and operates in the areas of wealth management (Legend Wealth Management) and investment advisory (Legend Investimentos), with a link to the BTG Pactual bank. Guedes was one of the founders of Pactual in the 1980s, which would become the bank now led by André Esteves.

The former Minister of Economy will be responsible at Legend for assembling a team that will focus on company restructuring. According to a statement, Guedes has joined Legend Capital in recent months and will officially assume the position in the company next week.

In early July, the Panel SA column published that the former minister had set up a school to offer MBA courses.

Legend Capital has among its partners Roberto Justus and Sergio Eraldo Salles. Sales was one of the founders of the asset manager Crescera Capital (formerly Bozano Investimentos), of which Guedes was also one of the creators. He left the company to assume the post of minister in the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The advisory office is headed by the duo Pedro Salles and Tulio Lopez, formerly of XP. Legend Wealth is led by Sergio Marini, who has worked at family offices GPS Julius Baer and Turin. The company has offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Miami.
