Insurance for low-income people breaks record in 2022 – 02/23/2023 – Panel SA

The insurance market for low-income people and micro-entrepreneurs reached a record in 2022, according to CNSeg (industry confederation).

For the first time, the annual collection of the modality, called microinsurance, surpassed R$ 1 billion, according to the survey that will be released by the entity.

The main coverages include reimbursement for funeral expenses and indemnity for the period of hospitalization, says the entity.

According to CNSeg, microinsurance closed last year with revenues of R$ 1.05 billion.

The result represents an advance of almost 80% compared to 2021, when around BRL 590 million was recorded in collection by the segment.
