Retirees, pensioners and other beneficiaries of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) will receive the first installment of the 13th from the 25th of this month, according to information from Social Security. The release of amounts follows the INSS payment schedule in 2023.

The decree with the anticipation of the Christmas bonus was signed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) this Thursday (4). The money falls into the account of the insured always in the month of the accrual that is being paid. In May, payment starts on the 25th for those who have a benefit number ending in 1, without considering the digit. The first to receive are beneficiaries who earn a minimum wage. Then, in the first days of the following month, the release of amounts begins for those who earn above the minimum up to the INSS ceiling, of R$ 7,507.49 in 2023. Payment dates for this public range from June 1 to 7.

The second installment will begin to be paid by the institute on June 26th. First receive the insured persons entitled to the minimum wage and then, in the first days of July, those who earn amounts above the social security floor. The payment date for policyholders who earn the most runs from July 3 to 7.

How is the payment of the 13th of the INSS?

The amounts paid depend on when the insured person retired. For those who were already retired in January of this year, the value of the first installment corresponds to exactly half of the benefit. The second installment is paid with an Income Tax discount for those who are obliged to pay the IR.

This year, the IR table was updated by the government, with an increase in the exemption range and a standard discount of R$ 528 on income, which will make taxpayers pay less tax. In addition, 13.7 million should be exempt from IR with the increase in the initial range.
