The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, announced Alessandro Antonio Stefanutto as the new president of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security). The act was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday (5).
Stefanutto takes over from Glauco André Fonseca Wamburg, who had been in charge since February.
The new president had been director of Budget, Finance and Logistics at the agency since March. He also participated in the coordination of the Social Security technical group during the transitional government at the end of last year.
Stefanutto’s biggest challenge in charge of the INSS will be to reduce the queue of 1.8 million people waiting for care, with more than 1 million waiting for medical expertise.
Task Force for Medical Expertise
To try to reduce the queue for medical expertise, the INSS started a task force this month, which will reach eight states until August.
