Amazonas reached the top of the national ranking in industrial production

Manaus (AM) — Amazonas surpassed other states in industrial production in January. According to data from the Monthly Industrial Survey, released on Wednesday (13), by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the largest Brazilian State had an increase of 16.7%, in relation to the month of December 2023. In In the same period, Brazilian industry recorded a drop of 1.6%.

With the positive performance, Amazonas reached the top of the national ranking in industrial production. In comparison, the state of Mato Grosso, which also had a satisfactory result, reached 4.4% growth. Other states had less: Bahia (2.1%), Paraná (1.9%), Minas Gerais (1.0%), São Paulo (0.8%), Rio de Janeiro (0.8%) and Pernambuco (0.5%).

Other units of the federation had no positive change or suffered a negative change, compared to December 2023 and January of this year.

Year-to-date variation

In the year to date, Amazonas had a variation of 11.7% in the general industry, taking second place in the national ranking.
