INDT presents advances in R&D to the Amazon public at ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC

Visitors will have access to solutions in robotics, 5G internet, cybersecurity, automation and sustainability

Manaus (AM) – The actions and results of studies conducted by experts from the Institute of Technological Development (INDT) will be demonstrated at the second edition of ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC, which takes place between the 28th and 30th of November, from 2pm to 8pm, in Manaus. Promoted by the Associação do Polo Digital de Manaus (APDM) and supporting institutions, the event brings together professionals, private companies and government entities in dialogue about the possibilities of encouraging the bioeconomy and innovations in the North region.

Under the concept “Sustainability, Technology and Innovation”, visitors who attend the Institute’s stand will be able to interact with some of the equipment on display and learn about INDT’s applications on research fronts such as artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, autonomous transport, connectivity, cybersecurity , biotechnology and ESG, in addition to supporting local economic development projects.

Triad and cyber attack simulation

In the INDT space, the public will be able to see two robots and a forklift that operate with 5G technology, with safety and efficiency as the main difference. One of these is the “AMR Forklift”, which autonomously transports pallets.

Another item, “AMR Jacking”, can lift and flow materials and also work in conjunction with collaborative robots. They are all part of a range of customized solutions that INDT can develop to add value to various processes.

One of those responsible for the sector, Product Owner Gledyson Cidade, indicates how the products will be presented.

“The ‘robotic arm’ [robô] it will be on a bench on top of a pallet and the ‘Forklift’ will transport the pallet with the ‘robotic arm’ in a certain area of ​​the stand. ‘Jacking’ will move through nearby corridors, and, at certain times, will interact with cyber attacks simulated by the IT team. In these attacks, the AMR will trigger characteristic sounds and move outside of the presentation pattern,”

In another exhibition, visitors to the event will follow simulations of electromagnetic interference tests.

“The sample is subjected to a simulation of operation on the electrical network, and being monitored by the equipment, it is possible to analyze whether it is within the acceptable tolerance range according to international standards for electronic products”,

comments the INDT laboratory manager, Jefferson Silva.

There will also be a presentation of the resources of a new feature recently implemented on INDT’s premises: the private 5G network for Industry. Among the benefits, the network guarantees high data transfer with low latency, allowing more robust applications focused on Industry 4.0 concepts to be implemented, in addition to offering more security and flexibility for changes in the layout of production lines.

The Institute’s technical manager, Sérgio Abreu, highlights that the public’s practical contact with these applications will improve results on a daily basis.

“Private 5G is already a reality, accessing the most advanced resources and solving the main connectivity problems for manufacturing. We need to join forces to disseminate the use of these technologies and improve the competitiveness of our local industry”,

During the visit to the INDT stand, visitors will also be able to check out the solar energy initiatives promoted by the company Schneider, a partner of the Institute.

According to INDT’s executive director, Geraldo Feitoza, the research center’s participation in ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC signals the Institute’s purpose in supporting the region’s socioeconomic development.

“We are bringing a set of solutions and technological possibilities that can be applied to the most varied production processes. The INDT is open to all entrepreneurs who are interested in innovating to enhance their results and promote greater benefits for the Amazon. It is worth mentioning that the INDT, as an Embrapii Unit, facilitates access to non-reimbursable resources for projects that feature technological innovation”,
