Manaus (AM) – With a large program focused on indigenous culture, Amazon Poranga Fashion promotes this Wednesday, 14th, from 2 pm, the Workshop on techniques for initiation to indigenous body graphics, taught by artist Amadeu Sateré-Mawé. Applications are made through an online form. There are 20 vacancies.
The objective is to provide the students with initial contact with the processes of making genipap ink, techniques for mixing paints, handling accessories for practicing graphics and knowledge about body graphics.
According to Amadeu, the idea is to aggregate, together with relatives, and share experiences in a space where indigenous diversity is highlighted and able to complement and learn.
“It is an exchange of knowledge and identity for fashion and an expansion of culture towards this world of fashion as inclusion and deconfiguration of this colonial pattern”, explains the artist.
Amazon Poranga Fashion seeks to foster the Creative Economy and entrepreneurship with a focus on Amazonian art and fashion, creating a space for visibility and connection between its producing agents through activities such as fashion shows, exhibitions, business circles and various workshops.
The event has the support of the Government of the State of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy and the Amazônia Association of Artistic Production, Organization and Incentives (Apoiar).
According to the Secretary of Culture of the State, Marcos Apolo Muniz, this is another opportunity to get to know and learn more about such important knowledge.
“Indigenous culture, evidenced by Amazon Poranga Fashion, is of paramount importance for the protagonism of these people who are part of our Amazonian identity. With an emphasis on entrepreneurship, the workshops and conversation circles reveal the understanding of ancestral knowledge”, concludes Marcos Apolo.
