Around 5.6 million taxpayers will receive R$7.5 billion
About 5.6 million taxpayers who submitted the Personal Income Tax Return received this Monday (31) the third of five batches of refunds for 2023. The batch also includes residual refunds from previous years.
In all, the Federal Revenue disbursed R$ 7.5 billion to 5,632,036 taxpayers. Of the total amount, informed the Treasury, R$ 5,585,384,236.58 refer to taxpayers with priority in reimbursement.
Most – 3,879,049 taxpayers – informed the Pix key of the Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF) type in the Income Tax declaration or used the pre-filled declaration. New in the declaration from this year, the Pix key information gives priority to receipt.
legal priority
The rest of the taxpayers have legal priority, with 16,536 seniors over 80 years old; 95,047 between 60 and 79 years old; 9,740 taxpayers with some physical or mental disability or serious illness and 30,700 taxpayers whose main source of income is teaching.
Released on the last 24th, the query can be made on the Federal Revenue website on the internet.
The taxpayer simply clicks on My Income Tax and then on the Consult the Refund button. It is also possible to consult the Federal Revenue application for tablets and smartphones.
Payment
Payment is being made to the account or Pix key of the CPF type informed in the income tax return. If the taxpayer is not on the list, he/she must enter the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC) and extract the statement. If there is a pending issue, you can send a rectifying statement and wait for the next batches of fine mesh.
If, for some reason, the refund is not deposited in the account informed in the statement – as in the case of a deactivated account – the amounts will be available for redemption for up to one year at Banco do Brasil.
In this case, the citizen will be able to schedule the credit in any bank account in his name, through the BB Portal or by calling the bank’s Relationship Center, on telephones 4004-0001 (capital cities), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special telephone number exclusively for the hearing impaired).
If the taxpayer does not redeem the amount of his refund after one year, he must request the amount on the e-CAC Portal. Upon entering the page, the citizen must access the Declarations and Demonstrations menu, click on My Income Tax and then in the field “Request unredeemed refund in the banking network”.
