In Manaus, event launches new call for startups

Residency program, Conexão Distrito, will select initiatives to connect with the Compal industry
Manaus (AM) – The Manaus Tech Hub (MTH), an innovation and entrepreneurship space at the Sidia Institute of Science and Technology, will begin, on February 1st, another round of the “Conexão Distrito” residency program. The launch will be marked by an event open to the public at the MTH space, located on Av. Torquato Tapajós, Colônia Terra Nova, starting at 2pm.
Until March 11th, the initiative receives applications from startups from the Western Amazon and the state of Amapá, to solve the challenges proposed by Compal, the industry participating in this edition. Three startups will be selected, which will be announced by March 20th.
Compal is a multinational company of Taiwanese origin dedicated to the development of electronic solutions, standing out for products such as notebooks, tablets, smartphones, among others. Founded in 1984, the company has a long history in the technology industry and is recognized as one of the largest manufacturers of electronic equipment in the world, with a special focus on manufacturing mobile devices, such as notebooks, smartphones and tablets.
The classification criteria for selecting startups are: They need to be located in the Western Amazon region and the state of Amapá; Operating time; Business model consistent with the challenges presented; Execution capacity compatible with the selected challenges; Phase in which the startup finds itself.
Round #4 of Conexão Distrito is carried out by the Manaus Tech Hub, an innovation space at the Sidia Institute of Science and Technology, with resources from the IT Law via the Industry 4.0 Priority Program (PPI4.0), coordinated by the International Center for Software Technology (CITS).

The Conexão Distrito Residency Program encourages startups to develop technological solutions to real problems in industries located in the Manaus Industrial Pole. The demands are defined by the industries sponsoring the program based on challenges.
