IBM intends to train 100,000 people in the technology area free of charge by 2025. The project is aimed at the public seeking technological training to have a better insertion in the job market.

The Match! is a partnership between IBM and Mastertech, a Brazilian technology school, and is part of the company’s goal of training 30 million people globally by 2030 in technology.

To register, just click on this link. There is no selection process for individual students and course content is available on the IBM platform. Classes for academic monitoring are formed monthly, starting in June.

The only requirement for registration is to be over 18 years old and it is not necessary to have knowledge in the IT area. The candidate must have a computer with internet access to take the course.

Educational institutions, non-profit NGOs and government entities can also participate in the project.

The course lasts six months and is completely online. After training, the student will have access to the platform for another six months to access new content.

According to a survey by IBM, 60% of professionals looking for a job in Brazil do not consider themselves qualified to work in IT-related positions because they do not have adequate training.

“Today, almost nothing is done without the help of technology and people need to be prepared for that”, says Flávia Freitas, leader of Social Responsibility at IBM.

In the first module, the course will cover the basic fundamentals of technology, such as the history and operation of computers and the internet, professional possibilities in the area of technology, client management, how to use the recruitment website more effectively, among others.

In the second module, the goal is to train students to use technology as a professional tool. At this stage, the applicant will have programming classes in Python, management of personal profiles on social media, research and application of vacancies and communication techniques in the professional environment.

Students will have classes and follow-up in groups with Mastertech professors and IBM collaborators to resolve doubts.

The project was conceived as a way to democratize technological training among people seeking to enter or re-enter the job market or even those who are in a situation of financial and social vulnerability who cannot afford training in the area.
