How to get from ‘Ubercopter’ to Guarulhos airport – 03/08/2023 – Tourism

As of this Thursday (8), Avenida Faria Lima, the main financial center of São Paulo, will be connected to Guarulhos International Airport through regular helicopter flights. The service is offered by Revo, a new urban mobility app from the Portuguese group OHI.

The flights are operated by Omni Táxi Aéreo, from the same group, in Airbus H135 aircraft (for up to five passengers) or H155 (for up to eight passengers).

From now until October, the platform will operate in “soft launching”, offering the air shuttle to Guarulhos airport from two helipads in the capital: one on the corner of Faria Lima and Juscelino Kubitschek avenue (Faria Lima Internacional Plaza II) and another next to Shopping Cidade Jardim (Continental Tower Building). Both have lounges to receive passengers with security briefings and various beverages, including alcoholic beverages.

The flights last 15 minutes, and depart at times that are adjusted according to demand with the help of artificial intelligence, says the company. For the next week (August 7th to 11th), three daily flights are scheduled to Guarulhos, from Monday to Thursday, departing at 8:00 am, 9:45 am and 3:45 pm. On Fridays, there are only two, at 8:00 and 9:30. For the following week, there are other scheduled time options, including at night.

To fly, simply reserve your seat via the Revo app, available only for iOS. In addition to the flight itself, the reservation includes the transportation of luggage and a private driver who takes the passenger and their bags from their home or office to the helipad and vice versa.

Each segment to or from the airport has a fixed price of BRL 3,500 per passenger — who can even fly alone if their reservation is the only one for that time, since flights depart at the scheduled time regardless of the number of passengers.

On Fridays and Mondays, Revo will also have flights from the same helipads to Fazenda Boa Vista, a luxury condominium belonging to the JHSF Group in Porto Feliz, 100 kilometers from the capital. On this route, which lasts just under 30 minutes, each section costs R$5,000.

This Wednesday (2), the Sheet boarded a flight from Revo da Faria Lima to Fazenda Boa Vista, on the Airbus H155. The aircraft, always piloted by two captains, has two rows of leather seats facing each other and Boose noise-canceling headphones. Smiling attendants guide passengers the entire way to and from the helicopter.

“Our focus is to serve a high-income public that today still does not have an option for an air taxi by application that offers total predictability of schedules and a complete service, including land transport, from the origin to the destination of the passengers”, explains João Welsh, CEO of Revo, which intends to transport 2,500 passengers only until the end of 2023. In five years, the expectation is to transport 80,000 passengers per year.

“We also already have signed agreements with Eve Air Mobility, Embraer’s flying car division, for the acquisition of these vehicles when they become available on the market”, says Welsh. “There is still a lot to be done in terms of infrastructure for flying cars to become a reality in a few years. We are going in first, starting an accelerated learning process with helicopters, to lead this transition.”

According to Revo, premium passenger traffic (flying business and first class) at Guarulhos airport is 1.1 million passengers per year – a number that will reach 2.4 million by 2026. The company’s executive also confirms that negotiations are already underway to extend the service to Viracopos airport, in Campinas, just over 100 km from the capital.
