How much does it cost to fly the world’s first Airbus A220 VIP – 06/12/2023 – Market

At the end of April, Airbus delivered the world’s first A220-100 ACJ jet, in a fully VIP configuration, to FIVE Hotels & Resorts in Dubai. A dream for many, but a possibility for few. According to Yahoo, the hourly cost to fly the jet is no less than $14,000.
On board the luxurious plane, registered as 9H-FIVE, passengers will have a dining table for eight people, shower, king-size bed and 55-inch TV screens. The engines are Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engines, allowing for a 12-hour autonomy, as quietly as possible.
A round trip flight between London and Dubai, for example, can cost US$ 12,000 per person, considering the maximum occupancy of the aircraft. According to the owner, the acquisition of the jet also intends to serve as a flying billboard for promoting the brand.
In addition to chartering for customers who want to travel in luxury, the A220-100 will also serve to transport passengers to luxury hotels in Dubai and Zurich.
The jet, built in Mirabel, Canada, had already been delivered in January 2022 to Comlux, the Swiss group responsible for its operation, through its base in Malta. However, on that occasion, it had been sent to Comlux’s own facilities in Indianapolis, USA, where the Swiss company performs VVIP (Very Very Important Person) cabin installation work.
This move occurred because Comlux was contracted to retrofit and operate this aircraft for FIVE Hotels & Resorts, a luxury lifestyle hotel chain based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
