Unit aims to disseminate the importance of traffic safety for Manaus society

Manaus (AM) – In October, the Honda Traffic Educational Center (CETH) celebrates 10 years of operation in Manaus, being a reference in promoting activities in favor of safer traffic. The capital of Amazonas has been home to the Honda motorcycle factory for almost 50 years and, through CETH, Honda works with Manaus society to improve riding techniques and train motorcyclists who are more aware of traffic safety.

In a structure with 75 thousand m² and two tracks: one paved, for on-road training, and another, dirt, for piloting on unpaved roads (off-road), CETH provides free piloting training for professionals from public and private fleet companies, Honda dealers and employees, as well as institutions such as the Military Police, Fire Department and Army, who use motorcycles as a form of agile transport to serve the population.

“Traffic safety is a fundamental value for Honda and being in Manaus for ten years is proof that we seek to promote these concepts where the brand is present. The face-to-face activities carried out this year have already impacted more than 160 thousand people across the country and more than 20 million through digital channels. Furthermore, we count on the important support of the dealership network, which helps to reinforce everyone’s commitment to building more harmonious traffic”,

says Marcelo Langrafe, Commercial Director at Honda Motos and CRM at Honda South America.

The CETH in Manaus is the third built by Honda in the country. The first unit in Brazil was opened in March 1998, in the city of Indaiatuba, in the interior of São Paulo, consolidating awareness work that had been developed by Honda since the 1970s, with flying courses in the main cities in Brazil.

Since that time, the company has already understood the importance of education in building a safe traffic environment. Over time, the activities gained strength, along with the support of the dealership network. In 2006, Honda opened CETH in the city of Recife (PE). Together, the three units have 20 employees and have already impacted an audience of more than 440 thousand people in face-to-face training.

Honda Club

Honda Educational Centers also offer educational activities for children. This is the project called “Clubinho Honda- Trânsito Amigo”, the project started in 1992, offers playful activities for children aged 4 to 7 to learn about traffic safety in a light and fun way. There is a mini-city on site that simulates real traffic, with a pedestrian crossing, traffic lights, road signs, as well as mini electric vehicles so that children can learn the main traffic safety rules.

Honda believes in the importance of safer traffic, and seeks to promote road safety activities for the next generations of drivers. After the pandemic period, in 2022, the project returned to in-person activities and began serving children in public and private schools, thus disseminating the principles of harmony in traffic to more than 41 thousand children.
