Hiring refugees and migrants in Manaus is the theme of the Employability Forum

Manaus (AM) – Talents Without Borders: The development of Venezuelan professionals and their insertion into the Brazilian job market” is the theme of the III Hermanitos Employability Forum for Refugees and Migrants, which will take place this Thursday (7), from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, at the headquarters of Águas de Manaus dealership, located at Av. André Araújo, 1981, Aleixo neighborhood – Central-South Zone of Manaus.

Promoted by the Civil Society Organization (OSC) Hermanitos, in partnership with the UN Agency for Refugees (UNHCR), the objective of the Forum is to raise awareness among businesspeople, HR leaders and public representatives and encourage the formal hiring of migrant and refugee professionals, in addition to to promote participation in the Business with Refugees Forum.

The chosen theme presents the work that Hermanitos has been developing in approximately five years of operation, which has already secured the Human Being Award, promoted by the Brazilian Association of Human Resources (ABRH) in the local and national categories, and credited it to compete in the Latin American category , which will take place in 2024, in Guatemala. In November, Hermanitos also received the Jaraqui Valley Award in the Impact Business category, which represents recognition in the local innovation ecosystem.

The Forum will have three thematic panels, each lasting 40 minutes, for sharing experiences and cases among guests, businesspeople, HR professionals, representatives of public entities, already hired professionals and migrant and refugee organizations, among others, aiming to foster new ideas and hiring projects.

“It will be a very fruitful meeting for all parties. We will discuss legislation, training, organizational culture and, mainly, the benefits that hiring migrant and refugee professionals provide to companies”,

highlights Tulio Duarte, president director of Hermanitos.

Founded in 2019, OSC Hermanitos develops three projects aimed at employability and income generation. The first is “Mujeres Fuertes”, which encourages women heads of single-parent families to open their own businesses in the areas of beauty, aesthetics and gastronomy.

Another highlight is “Jóvenes en Acción”, aimed at professional qualification of Venezuelan teenagers and young people looking for their first job, through learning programs, in addition to the “Talent Bank”, a platform that brings together more than three thousand CVs from Venezuelan professionals in various areas and is in constant contact with businesspeople and HR leaders.
