Guarita Burger is yet another restaurant that closes its doors to make way for a building in São Paulo. The hamburger shop, near Rua Augusta, is only open until this Monday, the 24th.
The property, at number 395 Rua Antônio Carlos, in the Consolação neighborhood, was sold to a developer. Other businesses in the same block, such as the Espaço Itaú de Cinema annex and the taqueria La Sabrosa, will also be demolished for the construction of a real estate project.
The owner of the hamburger shop, Greg Caisley, says he is looking for a new point in the same region to reopen the restaurant, but there is still no confirmed location or date.
At farewell, the house does promotions. The cheddar smash burger with fries will cost R$19, and the smash salad with fries will cost R$26.
Guarita Burger, a hamburger joint of the bar Guarita, in Pinheiros, was opened in Baixo Augusta five years ago by partners Greigor Caisley and Jean Ponce.
Thinner, smash-style burgers are the specialty. Bolovo, made from coxinha dough, is also a success. Original house cocktails were also sold there. The space even gained a little pull, expanding the hall.
Other gastronomic and cultural addresses in the capital of São Paulo, such as Bona and the Oregon hamburger, were closed to make way for buildings in São Paulo, in an increasingly growing movement, due to real estate speculation.
