Government of SP will change accountability for companies – 03/12/2023 – Panel SA

The Finance and Planning Department of São Paulo will announce this week the elimination of the GIA (ICMS Information and Calculation Guide) in taxpayers’ accounts.

According to the folder, the information in the document, delivered by companies on a monthly basis to the government, is already included in the EFD (Digital Tax Bookkeeping), generating a double obligation in the current model.

The extinction of the GIA will be done gradually. Initially, taxpayers of the RPA (Regime Periódico de Investigação) who meet the criteria defined by the secretariat will benefit.

Still according to the folder, the measure will benefit 350 thousand companies of the periodic regime, which should save 18 hours a year with the simplification of the process.

The amendment to the regulation was sent to Governor Tarcísio de Freitas on Friday (10).
