Google announces 120 thousand scholarships in professional technology courses for young people

Each of the courses has about 200 hours and can be taken over the internet at the pace of each student. However, Rodrigo Dib, institutional superintendent of CIEE, points out that students who do not carry out any activity with the course for more than a month will be notified and, if the inactivity continues, they will lose their vacancy, which will be passed on to someone else. The courses are available on the Coursera platform and, in addition to scholarship holders, interested parties can take them by paying a monthly subscription of around R$80. Goal of 500,000 scholarships Today’s announcement inaugurates the second phase of a Google project to deliver 500,000 scholarships in technology by 2026. Last year, in the first edition of the program, the company, in partnership with CIEE, distributed 30,000 full scholarships. Furthermore, among the unemployed, 13.7% are women and 13.3% are black people. The project aims, precisely, to unite efforts to combat this reality, classified by Maia as “still very frightening”.
