Tourists fell into the canal in Venice, Italy, this Wednesday (6) after the gondola they were sailing in became unbalanced. The group of five people took selfies at a time when the driver needed to keep the boat’s weight stable while crossing a bridge.
The moment was captured on video that was shared on social media. According to the local press, five tourists from China, in addition to the driver, fell into the water.
It’s almost winter in the northern hemisphere, with temperatures around 8 degrees, which makes the canal waters cold.
There were no injuries in the fall, which happened near St. Mark’s Square. After the fall, tourists were welcomed in a theater nearby.
Since 2020, only five people are allowed on top of a “da nolo” gondola, the model involved in the accident, to avoid falls.
