The event that rewards the best in US cinema and television takes place on January 7, 2024. ‘Barbie’ and ‘Succession’ are among the nominees for the 2024 Golden Globe Awards The 2024 Golden Globes announced their nominees this Monday (11). The awards ceremony for the 81st edition of the event will take place on January 7, 2024. The film “Barbie” and the series “Succession” are the productions with the highest number of nominations, with nine each. Among the film categories, it is also possible to highlight “Oppenheimer”, in eight categories, and “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Poor Creatures”, with seven each. The year’s biggest box office hit, “Barbie” leads, thanks in large part to its three nominations for best original song. In the television categories, the last season of “Succession” completely dominated. So much so that in second place are “The Bear” and “Only murders in the building”, with just five nominations each. This will be the first edition of the traditional awards show since the event was purchased by the partnership between Eldridge Industries and Dick Clark Productions for an undisclosed price in June. The new owners announced the end of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization that held the award and had existed for 80 years. In recent years, the entity has been at the center of a series of scandals, including accusations of a lack of diversity among its members.
