Gloria Maria didn’t like to reveal her age, and her year of birth has always been a mystery.

Gloria Maria died this Thursday, 2, in Rio. The TV Globo journalist celebrated her birthday on August 15, but her year of birth has always been a mystery to the public and never officially confirmed by her.

In 2021, she celebrated the date with a cake without the candle indicating her age. Wikipedia reports that she was born on August 15, 1949, so she would be 73 years old.

However, in 2014, journalist Leo Dias disclosed an alleged health plan for her, informing her date of birth. At the time, Glória Maria denied that the age disclosed by the columnist was true and stated that she was 64 years old, not 54.

“It’s not my age,” she said at the time. “Divulging my age is not part of my interests”, she added in an interview with Folha de S. Paulo.

A few months later, she declared to Leo Dias that she was 55 years old. “I was born in 1959, baby. Everything that comes out of me is wrong. They even say I was born in Bahia. That’s what makes me angry. You gave that one time [que eu tinha 64 anos], is a lie. I swear to you on my daughters, “she assured. That being the case, Gloria would be 62 years old.

In 2021, Gloria Maria celebrated her birthday with a little party at home, in Rio, with her daughters, Laura and Maria, and friends like journalist Bruno Astuto and Narcisa Tamborindeguy. The “Globo reporter” journalist continued to make a mystery out of her age and did not put the candles corresponding to the years of her life on the cake.

As everyone knows, Gloria doesn’t like to reveal how many hairs she has. This was even a reason for a joke on her part when people tried to find out what day she would take the Covid-19 vaccine.
