Globo reporter suffers live robbery attempt

The journalist had just gone live, but was interrupted by a cyclist who tried to take the cell phone from her hand.
Reporter Juliane Massaoka, from Encontro, on TV Globo, suffered an attempted robbery this Friday (8) on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, during a live broadcast.
The journalist had just gone live to present a report on the 132nd anniversary of the famous avenue, but was interrupted by a cyclist who tried to take the cell phone from her hand.
The professional, who was visibly shaken, managed to hold the device and prevented the thief from taking it.
“Guys, I was almost robbed, Patrícia from heaven. The guy is on the bike there, and there are police here on the avenue,” Massaoka said in the broadcast.
On her social networks, the TV Globo journalist lamented the episode by describing that she felt a mixture of “powerlessness, sadness and fear”.
One of the city’s main postcards, Avenida Paulista is a leader in robberies, according to data from the Violence Monitor, alongside Rua Augusta and Praça da Sé.
