The champion’s return is near! On Monday (28) it will be time to celebrate Curitiba’s gastronomy champions in 2023 at 13th Good Gourmet Award, presented by Gold Food Service. The party starts at 7 pm and will be broadcast live on Bom Gourmet’s Instagram from 9 pm. This year, the most traditional gastronomic award in the capital of Paraná will recognize the best gastronomic establishments in the city in more than 50 categories. The result will be released from 11 pm on the website www.premiobomgourmet.com.br and on People’s Gazette.

Few moments are more emotional than the realization of a victory. The Olympic return, the climb to the podium, the ritual of handing out medals and of a single champion lifting the trophy are episodes of collective catharsis. The crowd, as a collaborator of the winner, vibrates as if each member had played or fought. This will be exactly the keynote of the party of the Bom Gourmet Award 2023.

After two years focused on mapping dishes and establishments in Curitiba and the region, the Prize once again crowns a single major winner in each of the categories. “This is the resumption of the dispute, of a competition that we consider healthy for the segment. This is the climate that people and restaurants will be in from the campaign to the event. The whole party will refer to the theme of games and it’s going to be really fun!”, says Andréa Sorgenfrei, Head of Pinó.

From the entrance to the interactive attractions, passing through the gastronomic spaces and decoration, everything was thought out so that the more than a thousand guests, including finalists, nominees, honorees and judges, feel like they are in an arena. In addition to the instagrammable settings and booths to take unusual photos and keep them as souvenirs, special actions will give the feeling that those present are inside a video game.

As it should be, the place will be full of game options and challenges to have fun on the spot, invite friends present to duel and see who gets the best. And since it is a celebration of local cuisine, there will be no shortage of islands with various delicacies that are the face of Curitiba. “Gastronomy, in addition to boosting the economy and generating jobs, brings joy to people from Curitiba and has the ability to be an important way of Curitiba’s personality and culture. Let’s celebrate this at the party”, recalls Caroline Olinda, Head and editor of Bom Gourmet.

Another traditional stage of the Bom Gourmet Award is Especialidades, which brings together juries made up of consumers and opinion makers. In 2023 there are 15 categories: Best Restaurant, Complete Menu, 5 Star Chef, Best Wine List, Brunch, Seafood, Oriental, Specialty Coffee, Artisan Bread, Meat House, Gluten-free Local Product, Places to Buy Wine, Authorial Drink, Artisan Brewery from Paraná and Local Producer.

The Bom Gourmet Committee, which praises and honors gastronomy personalities and businesses from the perspective of a group of recognizedly specialized professionals, elected champions in five categories: Novelties, Restauranteur, Sommelier, 2023 Honorees and To keep an eye on. The Bom Gourmet Committee was also responsible for highlighting the Curitibanices, a category that looked at behaviors and gastronomic ventures that translate our city. But the triumphant return of a champion calls for extra doses of emotion. For this reason, the organization presents in 2023 special categories, developed with partners.

The Erasto Gaertner category, in which chefs developed recipes focused on shared health and nutrition values evidenced by the hospital’s Nutrition Service; and Sustainable Business Models, a partnership with Composta+, which seeks to highlight establishments that reproduce good practices related to sustainability.

Still within the special categories, the Bom Gourmet Award once again establishes a partnership with the HAUS architecture and design platform, to elect the spaces that best combine gastronomy and architectural and design experience. It is the HAUS Ambiance category.

The event takes place in one of the city’s icons: the Wire Opera, unique in beauty and full of symbolism. From the choice of location, the organization seeks to reinforce the connection and proximity of Bom Gourmet with the city. “Curitiba turned 330 this year and nothing fairer than taking our party to a setting that speaks so much to the city. For this reason, the Ópera was chosen to be the stage for the great meeting of talents and flavors of Curitiba’s gastronomy”, explains Caroline.

The champion’s return is reflected in the way the structure will be organized and assembled. And here goes one spoiler: the winners of each category will lift the trophy literally in the center of the event, as the stage will be moved to a ring that can be seen from different angles of the party, offering a 360º perspective to those present. Andréa creates suspense: “When we talk about Ópera de Arame, people already automatically refer to its internal classic format, but the party will give it a completely different and unprecedented format”.

This special night, which will bring together gastronomy lovers in an icon of Curitiba’s landscape, features a presentation by Gold Food Service; the sponsorship of Paganini, Composta+, Amil, Dinho Distribuidora and Viña Concha y Toro; and support from Ceratti Alimentos, Platinox, Ítalo Supermercados, Hospital Erasto Gaertner and Cervejaria Saint Pauli.
